SHIPPING, RETURNS, CANCELLATIONS & WARRANTY POLICY

Last Updated: June 2026

At Taruca Adventure Gear, we strive to provide quality products and excellent customer service. Please review the following policy regarding shipping, returns, cancellations, freight damage, shipping protection, and warranty coverage.

RETURNS POLICY

Most new, unused, and unopened products may be returned within thirty (30) days of delivery unless otherwise stated on the product page.

To qualify for a return:

  • The item must be unused and uninstalled.

  • The item must be in new, resalable condition.

  • All original packaging, hardware, manuals, and accessories must be included.

  • The item must not show signs of installation, wear, scratches, modification, or damage.

Items returned in a condition that prevents resale may be refused or subject to a reduced refund at our discretion.

Return Shipping

If the return is due to an error on our part, including:

  • Incorrect item shipped; or

  • Defective product upon arrival;

Taruca Adventure Gear will arrange return shipping at no cost to the customer.

If the return is for any other reason:

  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

  • A 20% restocking fee will apply.

If free shipping was provided with the original order, the actual shipping cost incurred by Taruca Adventure Gear may be deducted from the refund.

EXCHANGES

We do not process direct product exchanges.

If you would like a different product, please:

  1. Submit a return request for the original item.

  2. Place a new order for the desired product.

Once the return has been received and approved, a refund will be issued according to this policy.

RETURN AUTHORIZATION

Before returning any product, please contact Taruca Customer Support and provide:

  • Order number

  • Product name

  • Reason for return

A Return Authorization and shipping instructions will be provided.

Unauthorized returns may be refused.

ORDER CANCELLATIONS

Orders may be modified or cancelled at any time prior to shipment.

Once an order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled and must follow the standard return process.

Certain transaction fees charged by payment processors may be non-refundable and may be deducted from refunds where permitted by law.

This may include purchases made through:

  • Credit Card

  • PayPal

  • Affirm

  • Other financing providers

PRE-ORDER CANCELLATIONS

Pre-order products may be cancelled before shipment.

If inventory has been specifically allocated, processed, or prepared for shipment, a cancellation fee may apply.

Estimated shipping dates for pre-orders are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Manufacturing delays, freight delays, customs inspections, weather events, and other factors outside of our control may affect delivery schedules.

SHIPPING PROTECTION (ROUTE)

At checkout, customers may have the option to purchase Route Shipping Protection.

Route Shipping Protection helps protect eligible shipments against:

  • Loss during transit

  • Theft after delivery

  • Damage during transit

If Route Shipping Protection has been purchased, Taruca Adventure Gear will assist in handling the claim process on the customer's behalf.

Customers must notify Taruca Adventure Gear as soon as possible and provide all requested documentation, including:

  • Photos of the shipping label showing the tracking number and delivery address

  • Photos of all sides of the packaging

  • Photos of any damage to the packaging

  • Photos of the packing materials inside the carton

  • Photos of any damage to the product

  • Order number and description of the issue

All packaging materials and damaged products must be retained until the claim has been fully reviewed and resolved.

Claims submitted under Route Shipping Protection remain subject to Route's terms, conditions, coverage limitations, and approval process.

While Taruca Adventure Gear will assist with claim administration, final claim determinations remain subject to Route's review and approval.

If Route Shipping Protection was not purchased, claims relating to loss, theft, or transit damage will be handled through the applicable carrier claims process where available.

We strongly recommend adding Route Shipping Protection to orders containing rooftop tents, awnings, and other oversized products to help provide additional protection against loss, theft, or transit damage.

ROOFTOP TENTS (RTT)

Due to their size and weight, rooftop tents are shipped via LTL freight carriers.

Upon delivery, customers must carefully inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt.

If freight damage is visible:

  • Note all damage on the carrier's delivery paperwork.

  • Refuse delivery if severe damage is present.

  • Contact Taruca Adventure Gear immediately.

Failure to document visible freight damage at delivery may limit our ability to pursue freight claims on your behalf.

If a shipped rooftop tent is cancelled after shipment but before delivery, a 15% handling and freight recovery fee may apply.

AWNINGS

Upon delivery, customers must inspect the packaging and product for signs of transit damage.

If damage is observed:

  • Refuse the shipment when appropriate.

  • Photograph the damage.

  • Contact Taruca Adventure Gear within twenty-four (24) hours.

Once delivery has been accepted without notification of freight damage, claims for shipping-related damage may be limited by carrier policies and claim deadlines.

SHIPPING POLICY

We offer free shipping on many products within the contiguous United States (Lower 48 States). Certain oversized products, remote delivery locations, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations may incur additional shipping charges.

Shipping estimates provided on the Website are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Factors that may impact delivery times include:

  • Freight carrier delays

  • Weather events

  • Customs inspections

  • Port congestion

  • Supply chain disruptions

  • Labor shortages

  • Force majeure events

Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon delivery by the carrier.

DAMAGE DURING TRANSIT PROCEDURE

If your shipment arrives damaged, please follow the steps below:

Step 1

Inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery.

Step 2

Take clear photographs before unpacking the product whenever possible.

Step 3

Notify Taruca Adventure Gear within twenty-four (24) hours of delivery.

Step 4

Provide the following documentation.

Required Photos

  • Photograph of the shipping label showing the tracking number, recipient name, and delivery address.

  • Photographs of all sides of the shipping carton or packaging.

  • Photographs showing any visible damage to the exterior packaging.

  • Photographs of the packaging material inside the box.

  • Photographs showing how the product was packaged and secured within the carton.

  • Photographs of any damage to the product itself.

  • Close-up photographs clearly showing the damaged area(s).

  • Wide-angle photographs showing the overall condition of the product.

Step 5

Provide the following information:

  • Order number

  • Description of the damage

  • Date the shipment was received

  • Whether the damage was noted with the carrier at delivery

Step 6

Retain all packaging materials, cartons, inserts, and damaged products until the claim has been resolved.

Do not discard any packaging or damaged items until instructed by Taruca Adventure Gear, as carriers or shipping protection providers may require inspection before approving a claim.

Failure to retain the original packaging and damaged product may result in denial of the claim by the carrier or shipping protection provider.

Step 7

Taruca Adventure Gear will review the submitted documentation and coordinate with the carrier and/or shipping protection provider to determine the appropriate resolution.

Failure to report transit damage within twenty-four (24) hours or failure to provide the required documentation may result in denial of the shipping claim by the carrier or shipping protection provider.
