I originally got the Taruca 270 XC awning as an add-on when I bought my Tune M1 camper. The awning itself is awesome, but I quickly realized we needed that extra privacy and protection while at Black Hills NF, SD campground in the middle of summer when an afternoon rain dumped with hail. That crazy storm made me realize we needed some extra enclosed room for our trips, so I grabbed the Taruca outer walls. Total game-changer.
One thing I love about these outer walls is that they come in two pieces, so I ordered both. We were out at Crescent Lake NF, OR surrounded by tons of beautiful trees, and I realized I didn't even need the full enclosure. I decided to only Velcro on the front wall piece to block the view from the camp path, and it was absolutely perfect. Having that flexibility to only use the front half for quick privacy without setting up the whole thing is huge.
Honestly, I was a bit worried at first because my truck is lifted on bigger tires and I thought the walls might hang too high. I actually reached out to customer service (Daniel) before they even arrived to ask about it. He was incredible—he completely assured me they'd fit my setup first, and then went a step further to mention they could work on a modification to add length to the walls if they did end up being too short! On top of that, we had a minor shipping mix-up right before our trip, and Daniel went completely above and beyond to overnight a replacement so it made it in time for our departure.
Turned out the engineering on these things is already perfect. Even with my lift and tires, the walls still slant perfectly to the ground so rainwater just sheds right off with zero pooling. Tune is already known for having top-notch customer service, and now I see exactly why they chose to partner with Taruca.
I’m already looking into getting their inner wall next to fully finish the setup. If you're on the fence about pulling the trigger on Taruca gear, just do it. You won't regret it! - V/R, Roberto S.
